Use of Sound and effects it has in a Trailer

Sound plays a huge role in trailers and creates differant impacts on audience exspectations.

there are many differant sounds that you can hear

Types of sound

·         Diagetic

·         Non diagetic

·         Narrative

·         Dialogue

·         SFX

·         Music

·         Natural

·         Soundtracks

·         Theme sound

·         Sound bridge (move between scenes with music)

all of these sounds are used in differant trailers to create differant inpacts on the audience for example on film i looked at was Jonny English reborn

Trailer blow

   This trailer uses a variety of differant sounds to create an impact on the audience. e.g it uses dialogue of the actors to give an idea of the plot of the story and uses key scenes to grab the audiences attention with sound effects such as the golf scene uses the sfx sound of a golf ball hiting someone aswell as the scene of a man falling over to create the impression that the man has been hit by the golf ball to the audience.

Also it plays a famous sound track from another film "Rocky" called "Eye of the tiger" this is used to portray the star "Jonny English" as invinsible whilst there is a load of comedy type scene played over it to contrast that it is a comedy film.

Sound is used alot to portray the genre of a film usually in the form of its sound track e.g for a gang warfare type film its trailer would use an urban/rap styled soundtract to portray to the audience that its a gang culture type film.
